With Shared Ownership, you can buy more shares whenever it’s affordable for you. This is called ‘Staircasing’ and is how you can move closer to one day owning your home outright.
Whenever you staircase up and own more, you’ll pay less rent to us. And if you decide to sell on, and your home has increased in value, because you’d own a larger share your profit would be higher.
Your lease will set out the minimum share you can buy each time you staircase (usually 10%) and in most cases, you’ll be able to purchase up to 100% of your home.
