PARK GATE VILLAGE - SHARED OWNERSHIP

In August this year, Emily was our first purchaser to complete on the Park Gate Village development in Knutsford.

Emily was a first-time buyer living at home with family, she hadn’t even considered that she was in a position to purchase a property when her mum stumbled across the advert for our open day back in May.

As soon as she drove into the development she knew that she wanted to live there, she instantly felt very safe and from walking around the estate knew that there was a community feel with neighbours giving a little wave and a friendly smile.

Emily hadn’t heard of the shared ownership scheme before chatting with Garden City Homes, during her viewing one of our experienced Sales Advisors talked through the scheme and the process with her.

The average house price for Knutsford last year was over £500,000. For the Park Gate Village development there is a local connection clause to ensure that Cheshire East residents have access to affordable housing.

“House prices in Knutsford make it near impossible for first time buyers to be able to purchase outright. £500,000! That would be out of the question for me.”

We asked Emily what her favourite thing about her new home was, she replied “I’m still in shock that I own my own house! I love that I’m nearby to Tatton Park and have lots of lovely walks on my doorstep. Plus I’m only 10 minutes from Mum and Dad so can still pop home when I fancy.”
